Ett tacksamhetsljud

Bo Hansson began his career as guitarist, arranger and songwriter.  During the last 10 years he has composed larger-scale works, including works for choir.  He is an intuitive composer who is particularly interested int eh expressive qualities of modal scales.  In the case of Ett tacksamhetsljud ("A gratitude's sound"), Hansson combines a wedding dance and a traditional folk melody from the agrarian heartland of Sweden.  As a reminder of the emotional well-springs of these melodies, he includes the ethnic "jojk" (the wild call of the shepherdess) in the musical landscape of the piece.
